Save the Orangutan is a non-profit organisation working to protect the critically endangered orangutan and its rainforest habitats in Borneo.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release orangutans in distress and protect wild populations.
Deforestation poses the greatest threat to the survival of the orangutan. That is why we also work to restore and preserve the rainforest, in close collaboration with Indonesian civil society organisations and local communities.
